Job Posting #2: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)  Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Type: Contract / As-Needed Pay: $18.50 - $30.00 per hour (Weekdays), $20.00 - $32.50 per hour (Weekends)

Job Summary: SunSoft Online is hiring qualified Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to work at the Arizona State Hospital. This position involves direct patient interaction, behavioral intervention, and supporting the treatment of individuals with severe mental illness (SMI).

Key Responsibilities:  Assist patients in daily activities and provide therapeutic interventions.  Work with mental health professionals to ensure patient safety.  De-escalate crisis situations using CPI-approved methods.  Monitor patient behavior and document progress.  Support treatment teams in implementing behavioral health care plans.

Requirements:

✔️ Minimum 1 year of experience working with SMI patients.

✔️ CPR Certification (American Heart Association).

✔️ CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card – or willing to obtain before start date.

✔️ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Arizona DPS) – or active application in progress.

✔️ High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in psychology or behavioral sciences preferred.

✔️ Negative TB test (within last 12 months).

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in psychiatric hospitals, crisis centers, or forensic mental health settings.  Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral de-escalation techniques.
